BTS: The Ethereal Peacock Photoshoot

Recently, CYE had the pleasure to have their latest styled shoot published by Grace Ormonde's online blog. Before we give you a glance of what happened behind the scenes, we must give credit where credit is most certainly due. Much thanks to our "friendors" that brought this vision to life and reached this goal with us!

The rain dampened no ones spirits as they made the drive to the beautiful Bellevue Conference Center in Chantilly, VA. When you pull up to the building, you can't help but be in awe of the beautiful structure of the building. You probably wouldn't even believe it could get any better, right? Wrong! The first things you notice once you walk through the enormous front door, are the gorgeous gargantuan chandeliers dangling from the ceilings. The largest of the chandeliers marked the focal point for the shoot.Sarah Khan and her team immediately began constructing a dream tablescape by stacking clear platforms on the table with 2 elegant, all white peacocks at the highest point of the table. The lovebirds hovered over a table amongst the "trees", sprinkled with tulips and carnations at the platforms' base. Her team remained focused as they added each intricate detail of the floral design. Subtle, yet significant is the best way to describe the design. The CYE team, in coordination with Select Event Group, tied in linens and tableware fit for any bride's Pinterest board.

Detail by detail, the table began to come together and the room began to radiate - with or without natural sunlight. While some of us were getting the table together, others were getting the models ready. Kamisol Event Styling provided two stunning models to pose as our husband and wife. Shaune Hayes and her team beat our blushing bride's face! The dramatic smokey eye was jaw-dropping, as our model had the most mesmerizing gaze. Pinning her hair back only accentuated just how beautiful she looked. And her groom was quite the looker as well - as he had just as much of a piercing, hypnotizing gaze as his photo-shoot sweetheart. Once make-up was all set, our model slipped into her gorgeous custom gown by designer, Yemi Osunkoya. The detailing on this dress was just as captivating as the decor! The venue itself has mostly white walls, so a white dress wouldn't really stand out. However, Yemi's gown was more of an off white with a rose quartz undertone and bronzed/gold pattern along the front silhouette, making sure the dress stood alone in all its glory!

After a pep talk from Gigi McMillian, the queen of Kamisol, this stunning couple was camera ready! It was time to shoot - and shoot they did. The Bellevue has so many different nooks and crevices that one can find while discovering, and Cierra took advantage of every one - giving special attention to those signature stairs . Everyone wanted photos in front of those stairs. Sarah sprinkled golden candelabras on the sides of the stairs, and hung branches intended to twinkle with the light of the candles.

And those peacocks!!!

These majestic birds made yet another appearance - this time encased in gold and stationed at the bottom of the heavenly stairs. We honestly could not believe just how much more stunning our collaborative efforts made this venue dazzle even more.

And the icing on the cake - the cake of course. In keeping with the theme of "Simple yet Significant", Victoria of Cakes by Happy Eatery designed a sumptuous square cake. The design was clean and crisp, and adding the feathers gave it a delicate touch! The cake was set to go in front of the "sweetheart back drop" - a golden arch way, with a dark blush curtain and flowers dangling from the top. Again - just when you thought we couldn't make this place more beautiful!

Before the day ended, luckily the rain had stopped, so the shoot concluded with a few sunset shots to close everything out. After hours of set-up, glamour, laughter, discovery, and magical moments that are now cherished memories - it was a wrap. Cierra certainly took more than enough photos, and we know it was hard for her to choose the ones that would go on the site. Luckily she chose wisely, and the team is now published and proud!

We wish we could tell you more, but photoshoots are like fight club...and you know the first rule of flight-club! However be sure to checkout our partners sites as they also share their experience! Thanks for reading - we can't wait to tell you about the next one!
