#DesignDetails: Thalia and David's Green and Gold Wedding
On July 3rd we were given the opportunity to not only take part in planning Thalia and David’s special day, but also to do the décor at the reception venue: AMP by Strathmore. The venue itself was beautiful. Half of the walls were brick with large windows overlooking a Bethesda city-scape, while the other half featured walls covered in gray wallpaper with black velvet flowers.
Cocktail hour was held right outside the main room, giving a preview to what could be behind the doors of the reception. We placed a large table with escort cards that doubled as favors. Above the table, we hung 8 adorable photos of the bride and groom that were used for their save the date cards. Talk about a personal touch!
In the reception hall, we arranged both rectangular tables and circular tables, a popular trend recently. The table linens alternated between sage green and glitzy gold. We placed square mirrors across the center of the rectangular tables and large circular mirrors in the center of the round tables. On top of the mirrors, we placed vases with floating candles in them in order to add that romantic feeling. In order to complete the look, we placed green ivy and greenery along with white and gold flowers on the mirrors and in between the vases. The centerpieces worked to create an elegant and warm look to each table, and the many candles definitely helped to set the mood.
We love how many variations there are to wedding design and decor! Stay tuned to our social media accounts for more design inspiration!
