The planner planning intensive two- day boot camp event, was dedicated to presenting useful information to beginner planners who are just making that leap into entrepreneurship, but need to some assistance on how to get things going.
The two-day event included amazing presentations from successful experts in different businesses including Jon’ll Boyd herself, Chip Dizard of Chip Dizard Weddings, Turiya Hodge of Peak Performer Institute, Dr. Nadia Brown of Doyenne Leadership, LaShonda Bracey, who is a Government Contractor and Sugar Taylor and Nar Hovanian of Taylor and Hov Events and Design.
Each presenter had a different topic to discuss, whether it was about how to improve one’s social media marketing skills, sales, branding, or proposals, our planners were furiously jotting down as many notes as they could. Each of these presentations were tactical and provided an abundance of information that the planners can apply to their business, making them grow and eventually lead to success.
The two-day event was filled with interactive activities, questions, role-playing and exercises that caused the planners to apply what they were learning to their own situations.
Jon’ll Boyd presented on additional streams of income and gave her expert advice on the do’s and don’ts for planners, definitely information that could and would be treasured. Later, Dr. Nadia Brown discussed the negatives of the business and how to deal with rejection. “Yes is where we are all going, and “no” is how we get there,” she says. Dr. Brown then followed up with an interactive mock phone call with one of the planners in order to practice the type of language to use when speaking with a client.
Turiya Hodge, another one of the speakers gave more insightful information when it came to working one’s way to 6 figures. Hodge explained that people pay you first with their information, second with an action and lastly, with their money. But to get there, you still have to get the clients, right? LaShonda Bracey gave an excellent presentation on how to write a winning proposal. Lashonda went through each step of the proposal process as attendees followed in their packets. This was a great resource, especially for those who have never written a proper proposal before!
When it came to the aspects and importance of social media, Chip Dizard dropped PLENTY of knowledge. And Sugar Taylor and Nar Hovanian were experts on the importance of effective marketing. Both presentations discussed the importance of social media and marketing to increase exposure and popularity of one’s brand and business. The way one dresses, the pictures they post, the social media platforms they use all affect the success of an individual’s business, so the attendees were made aware of what the do’s and don’ts are regarding that area.
Overall, the planners were delighted to have been able to receive such useful and motivating information. The two-day event included many laughs, many “aha” moments, many brain busters and helpful tools and resources that they will utilize in each of their businesses. It is safe to say that Eventagious was extremely advantageous!
